The Mynabirds are a Omaha-based band led by singer-songwriter Laura Burhenn. Judging by her photos, she must be a pretty stern leader, but I assume it takes a strong hand to keep in line all those mischievous musicians, who play such itchy phrases and grooves.
What’s strange to me is, regardless of the lyrics, that their playful sound is somehow sad too. Maybe I shouldn’t have watched that stupid movie tonight, but now I can easily imagine this music playing right after the world’s ended. When the credits roll for all of us.
