Any musicians who have finally found their own unique sound must feel really special, simply because most of them never find anything. Apparently, Daughn Gibson is one of the few who has.
His recipe goes like this:
Arrange a pile of scratchy old samples loosely but nicely in a huge, echoing bowl and put a beautiful fat baritone in the middle of it. It tastes familiar and original at the same time.
Daughn is from Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He describes his music as country, and he has every right to do so, although he pretty much deconstructs the genre, and builds something that’s more appropriate in our age.
