Lisa Mitchell from Albury, Australia is a for­mer Australian Idol con­tender. That fact would nor­mally raise ques­tions about her authen­tic­ity as a song­writer, but in her case it’s obvi­ous that there’s a real per­son behind the voice and the songs. She sounds airy and child­like, some­times with a sur­pris­ing hint of Björk and often a large amount of Regina Spektor. Her new sin­gle from her upcom­ing sec­ond album is just out. Although it’s autumn time in Australia, this one is a per­fect spring track for us liv­ing on the north­ern hemisphere.
